Beyoncé's Cowboy Carter tour hit with empty seats as fans claim they 'know why'

Beyoncé has launched her Cowboy Carter Tour , following the massive success of her Renaissance World Tour two years ago.

However, it appears that the 43-year-old superstar is facing challenges in selling out her shows this time around, with fans noticing vacant seats and sections of the stadium draped with blankets - and they have their theories. Beyoncé , a household name, stands as one of the most streamed and beloved artists globally.

The songstress boasts an impressive net worth of $800 million, as reported by Forbes in 2023. Her latest musical venture, the album Cowboy Carter , is taking her on a whirlwind tour of 32 cities across the US and Europe, including stops in Los Angeles , Chicago, New Jersey, London, Paris, Houston, Atlanta, Washington, and Las Vegas.

Interestingly, London tops the list with the most dates, hosting a total of six shows. The Cowboy Carter tour kicked off on April 28, 2025, at the SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California. Each concert spans two hours and 45 minutes, featuring tracks from her latest album, along with fan-favorite classics like Crazy in Love and Formation

However, despite her immense popularity and staggering wealth, footage from fans revealed numerous empty seats - contrary to the high expectations and the triumph of her past tours. Images and videos circulating on social media showed unoccupied seats, a surprising revelation considering her previous Renaissance World Tour raked in a whopping 388,560 million, setting a record for the highest-grossing tour by a Black artist.

The Cowboy Carter tour's swath of empty seats stands in stark contrast to the mad dash for tickets marking Beyoncé's previous world tour escapades. Such was the frenzy for her Renaissance World Tour, that tickets vanished within mere minutes upon release, with a staggering 400,000 fans battling it out in the pre-sale queues just for the UK dates.

February 2025 saw Beyoncé unveil her tour plans, triggering a wave of fan outrage over the sky-high ticket prices, which soared into the thousands for certain sections. This has led many to conclude that these exorbitant costs are at the heart of the disappointing turnout.

SoFi Stadium boasts a capacity to host 70,000 spectators, yet in an unexpected turn of events, ticket prices plummeted for her May 1, 4, 7, and 9 concerts, as a result of too many vacant seats. Those seats, originally tagged at soaring prices, suddenly dropped to affordable figures - £40 ($54) on Ticketmaster.

An X user quipped: "It's so funny that people are acting like the Cowboy Carter Tour not being sold out has anything to do with Beyoncé's cultural relevance when it's actually because the tickets cost a gazillion dollars."

Meanwhile, another chimed in with a gripe about the pricing: "I'm sorry but we need to talk about Beyoncé charging her fans over $1k (face value [by the way]) for pit tickets. And it's a standard ticket too like no perks at all, no merch, early entry like ???? ONE THOUSAND DOLLARS FV [Face Value]?"

One attendee's take on the opening night in Inglewood was less than flattering: "Cowboy Carter tour? More like Empty tour." Echoing the sentiment, another observer noted: "Watching the [timeline] complaining about Beyoncé ticket prices a couple of months ago and then checking Ticketmaster to see them at $45 now."

So, when will Beyoncé grace London with her presence?

Queen Bey is set to dazzle Londoners during her intense six-day stint at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in the heart of the UK's bustling capital. The shows are lined up for June 5, 7, 10, 12, 13, and 16. You can still snag a spot at one of her epic performances - ticket prices range from £121.70 to £546, a small price to pay for fans eager to witness music royalty live. Tickets are up for grabs through official outlets like Ticketmaster and LiveNation, so get them while they're hot.
